Senegalese integrated agro-industrial company, specialized in the production and valorization of premium quality local agricultural products, recruits a Senior Sales Manager. The current scope covers beef and poultry, with an upcoming expansion to sheepmeat, dairy products, fruits and vegetables. The sector is controlled from breeding to slaughter, and the products are marketed under two brands with complementary positionings: an ultra-premium brand and an accessible premium brand.
The commercial strategy is already defined: two-brand architecture, priority channels, pricing schedule and deployment schedule of points of sale. The incumbent of the position will be responsible for deploying it in the field, developing B2B and B2C sales and structuring business processes from order to receipt.
Main duties
1. Deploying the commercial strategy
Translate the strategy validated by the Management into action plans by channel and brand. Apply the tariff schedule and delegation of discounts signed by the Directorate. Guarantee the seal between the two brands: offers, prices, supports and separate customers, without cross-offering. Provide weekly and monthly reporting (volumes, turnover, margin, recovery) for management committees.
2. Develop and manage large accounts and B2B (two brands)
Prospect, negotiate and retain key accounts: hotels, restaurants, catering, supermarkets, institutional, butchers and retailers. Negotiate and track customer contracts, including the minimum resale price clause for distribution partners. Back to the Management any atypical file: price off grid, exclusivity, structuring partnership.
3. Direct sales and field team management
To supervise the commercial field responsible for households and small professionals (bulk supply, cutting, carcasses), according to a zoning by brand. Set individual goals, support on the ground and track performance.
4. Carry the portfolio of products
Priority: beef and poultry, with the rise of the poultry slaughterhouse. Anticipation: ovine meat (launch in progress). Complementary products: dairy and citrus products, extra.
5. Structure and supervise business processes
Supervise sales administration: orders, delivery notes, actual weight billing, entry in the sales database. Apply the settlement policy. Manage the credit of major accounts within the fixed framework (ceiling of outstanding, maximum delay, blocking of deliveries in case of delay) and manage the recovery. Ensure the separation of functions: the collection and reconciliation of payments are ensured by a separate function.
6. Plan and coordinate with operations
Establish each week and on a monthly basis the consolidated sales forecast by channel (integrating that of the points of sale), submitted to the arbitration of the Management and transmitted to the Production. Ensure the flow of stock, offal and co-products. Define with Logistics the level of service expected in delivery. Forward customer complaints to the RCMP for follow-up.
Outside the perimeter of the post
The definition of the sales strategy, marketing and communication, as well as the development of the network of points of sale (choice of locations) are the responsibility of the Management. The operational management of the points of sale is the responsibility of the Network Manager, with whom the position works in close coordination.
Objectives and KPI
Volumes of cattle sold compared to the monthly target. Revenue and margin of major accounts and B2B. Recovery: unpaid rates and late payments. New accounts opened and poultry sales growth. Reliability of the sales forecast (forecast / realized difference).
Candidate profile
Bac+4/5 in Commerce, Management or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in sales and commercial management, ideally in agri-food, fresh products, catering or distribution. Experience in major accounts and B2B trading; knowledge of the cold chain appreciated. Rigor on processes: invoicing, collection, reporting. Good command of Excel. Leadership, sense of result, autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit. Fluency in French and Wolof. Permit B.
Salary
Fixed monthly and variable on objectives, with capped outperformance bonus. Professional fees (telephone, transportation) are not included. Review of pay at 6 months, during the transition to permanent employment.
