It invests in the personal and professional development of its employees through a range of training, accreditation, coaching, mentoring and other programs, as well as internal mobility opportunities. Job purpose Provide support for the implementation of risk management activities, contribute to the application of controls and compliance with policies and procedures, as well as overall operational efficiency and value-for-money for WFP.

Responsibilities

Under the delegated authority, the incumbent of the position will be responsible for the following responsibilities, but this list is not exhaustive: Contribute to the integration of risk management into planning and decision-making within the office and in all aspects of WFP operations, by monitoring key risk appetite indicators and risk indicators, as well as regularly updating risk registers, including monitoring progress in implementing mitigation measures. Support the collection of feedback and data on risk performance and contribute to the development of potential new approaches to implementation. Support relevant officials in their regular and ad hoc risk assessments within regional, national and field offices to identify and assess risks, contribute to the development and design of mitigation measures, assess the effectiveness of internal controls and prepare information on risks that management may share with external stakeholders. Support exchanges with functional experts and risk management focal points to identify trends and emerging issues, and contribute to the preparation of guidelines and/or checklists consistent with WFP policies and rules on periodic risk assessments and/or controls. Use available risk management tools to link risk information, oversight and assessment. Review and analyze risk management activities, risk exposures and mitigation measures in the draft Country Strategic Plan (CSP) or interim CSP, including budget revisions. Gather information and training needs and assist in the preparation of training programs or briefings for colleagues and partners to improve their understanding of risk management and compliance with WFP policies, rules, regulations and procedures.

Main duties

Based on the three-line model, participate in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) by front-line colleagues to manage risk management and accountability processes. This includes performance criteria for risk management and accountability missions, training materials, modules and other tools to minimize risks to the organization. Contribute to management accountability across business units, including by preparing comprehensive reports summarizing the compliance status of internal controls and key oversight themes. Use of risk information — for example risk indicators and incident reports — to identify areas of compliance risks or vulnerabilities and propose appropriate measures. Support the completion of the annual survey as part of the Executive Director’s assurance exercise, including by collecting and reviewing contributions. Support managers in the preparation and planning of internal and external audits, the collection of essential documents, the organization of information meetings and the follow-up of recommendations. Support the promotion and dissemination of the 2021 Revised Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Policy (AFAC), as well as WFP’s compliance with the principle of zero tolerance for inaction. This includes assisting managers in their fraud risk assessments and reviews, collecting and analyzing data related to fraud incidents, fraud risk indicators, and fraud risk appetite, as well as supporting training on AFAC standards. Carry out any other tasks as required, including possibly assuming the role of focal point for Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI), for example by supporting the development of plans and procedures to avoid organizational conflicts of interest.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
