UNICEF is recruiting a national consultant for a period of five months, based in Niameyin Niger, with possible missions on the ground. The contract provides for on-site work in the office of Niamey, supplemented by trips according to the needs of the mission.
UNICEF works in more than 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights and support them in realizing their full potential, from early childhood to adolescence. The organization brings together committed and passionate professionals, present as long as their action is necessary. Promoting the rights of each child is as much a vocation as it is a profession.

Specific objectives of consultancy
The consultant will contribute to the analysis of existing policies and strategies and integrate the nexus approach into the policy as well as its action plan. This will include integrating the approach of the first 2,000 days of life into the strategic orientations of the new NHNP, in line with national priorities for preventing malnutrition and strengthening household resilience. The mission also includes strengthening multisectoral coordination mechanisms and establishing an accountability framework for key contributing sectors, including measurable commitments from sectoral ministries. The consultant should develop a multi-sectoral monitoring and evaluation framework integrating nexus indicators, develop a budgeted multi-sectoral action plan incorporating sustainable financing mechanisms, and propose a communication, advocacy and resource mobilization strategy.

In its policy and strategy for the inclusion of people with disabilities 2022-2030UNICEF is committed to increasing the number of employees living with disabilities by 2030. UNICEF provides reasonable accommodations to meet the work-related support needs of applicants and employees living with disabilities. - •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
