Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Director, Regional Office Within the limits of available funds and priorities set by the Africa Office/Emergency Hub roadmap based at headquarters, the Emergency Response and Security Officer will need to respond to the needs of journalists and media in countries in the region where emergencies are ongoing or forthcoming. • Ensure a monitoring activity (geopolitical, socio-economic, media environment etc) on the countries of the zone;

Education / Qualifications

• Facilitate feedback and coordination between the regional office and headquarters services involved in emergency response (emergency response coordination, projects, international coordination).

• Organize missions in conjunction with the Director of the Regional Office.
• Participate in the preparation of security aspects of staff missions (risk analysis, safety recommendations, identification of safe hotels, vehicles, hospitals, etc.)
