Background information – Job-specific This vacancy announcement is posted on behalf of MONUSCO Radio Okapi. UNOPS is providing administrative support to MONUSCO Radio Okapi for this recruitment, and the staff recruited will be under contract with MONUSCO Radio Okapi and paid according to their salary scale. Under the Agreement between the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in République Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) and UNOPS to support Radio Okapi’s activities, UNOPS provides a Pre-selected LICA Partner Contract from the client to perform the following functions: The objective of this project is the realization of a weekly program on Radio Okapi and its declination on Bana Okapi, radio intended for young people, to learn French by radio for non or little francophone audiences living especially in rural areas of the country, to allow them to acquire language skills at level A1-A2.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Radio Okapi’s Program Manager, the Professor/Consultant will assume the following roles and responsibilities: Prepare the Forecast for the week of the program; Addressing the concerns of children, parents, listeners and Internet users; Prepare, in collaboration with stakeholders, learning manuals and programs according to project objectives; Address the psychological aspects and enrich the interventions of the program; Participate in daily preparation and debriefing meetings and contribute creatively with ideas to further improve current programs; Êbe constantly vigilant and attentive to involve live listeners; Follow the Facebook page of the program; Requirements Minimum education Secondary school

• 5 Years Nationality Not defined Languages Not defined Specializations Education, Training and Languages Skills Not defined Prerequisites Education: A high school diploma is required, A bachelor’s degree in one of the fields such as pedagogy, communication or other relevant fields will be considered an asset and can replace 3 years of experience required. Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in the field of education/teaching is required for the person with a high school diploma and 2 years required for the person with a Bachelor’s degree. Experience in processing and broadcasting educational information on the radio is desirable. Experience in Pedagogy, Communication, or other relevant fields is desirable. An ability to work independently is required. Language: Have a perfect command of French (read, spoken and written); Knowledge of English is a great asset. Type and duration of engagement Engagement Type: Local Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA) Level: LICA-6 Duration of the engagement: 6 months with possibility of extension Further information UNOPS does not accept unsolicited applications.
