The Tax Management Supervisor in Kigali, Rwanda, will oversee the company’s monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings across all applicable tax types, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with Rwandan Revenue Authority (ERA) regulations. This role involves managing the e-invoice system and tax invoice issuance process, verifying compliance and completeness in alignment with ERA e-invoicing mandates, and resolving any invoice discrepancies. Additionally, the position requires the timely preparation of monthly financial statements for all entities, alongside managing annual tax audits, financial statement audits, and other tax-related obligations. Responsibilities also include coordinating tax arrangements for import transactions, withholding tax obligations, transfer pricing documentation, and related-party transaction compliance. The role demands the ability to identify and evaluate tax risks, address tax audits and inspections, and stay abreast of evolving Rwandan tax policies to adapt the company’s tax strategy accordingly. Regular training of the finance team on foundational tax principles is also part of this position. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or a related discipline, with approximately a decade of professional experience, including at least five years dedicated to tax-related work. Proficiency in Rwandan tax legislation is essential, with a strong understanding of VAT, income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and customs regulations. Experience with tax filing and e-invoice systems is required, along with fluency in English. Prior experience within the tax department of a tax advisory firm or one of the Big Four accounting firms is advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills when liaising with tax authorities, external consultants, and internal stakeholders, coupled with strong analytical abilities and a commitment to ethical professional conduct under strict tax compliance standards.
