• Responsibilities include providing service to clients and managing the reconciliation of personal cash drawers at the start and end of each shift, as well as during any cash restocking or repatriation activities throughout the day.

• Ensure the till is opened and closed in accordance with the bank’s established procedures, including the physical securing of the till as specified. The incumbent will handle the receipt and processing of bulk cash deposits, withdrawals, and specimen requisitions submitted by customers. Job Description Key Accountabilities Professional Rewriting: Handling bulk cash deposits and encasements constitutes 90% of the role’s responsibilities, requiring meticulous attention to detail and adherence to financial protocols. Ensure all security seals remain unbroken and formally confirm the receipt of the cash containers. Count the cash on hand and reconcile it with the total amount deposited by the customer. Capture the deposit within the FOS system or an equivalent platform. Report any cash discrepancies to the team manager promptly and initiate the necessary adjustment entries accordingly. Compile payroll data and process wages in accordance with specific customer requests and requirements. Process customer checks in accordance with requisition requirements. Revised: Maintain accurate cash balances and promptly notify the team manager of any discrepancies. Prepare and record adjusting entries to reconcile discrepancies in financial records. Handle cash transactions by depositing funds into or withdrawing funds from the treasury. Assist team members as needed and perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager. Offer expert guidance to customers regarding cash-handling procedures, thereby facilitating seamless transaction processing. Facilitate and champion the successful execution of change management initiatives. Upon receiving customer inquiries, endeavor to address and resolve them immediately using the bank’s existing systems. Escalation to the team leader should occur solely after all viable solutions have been thoroughly explored and exhausted. The team member is responsible for effectively communicating the benefits of utilizing the bank’s customer feedback system to clients. This includes providing clear explanations on how the bank analyzes and applies their input to enhance service quality and operational efficiency. SNAPCHECKS 5%: Conduct snap checks as directed by the team manager when assigned. Risk and Control 5%: Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory obligations, as well as the ABSA Operational Risk Framework and internal ABSA Policies and Standards, in the execution of all duties and responsibilities.
