About the role: Our organization seeks a skilled Grants Officer to join our Grants, Projects, and Stakeholder Relations Team. This role encompasses the full grant lifecycle, from identifying funding opportunities to managing the application process and providing progress reports to stakeholders during project implementation. Key Responsibilities: Market Analysis We are seeking to identify fresh funding prospects to enhance our financial resources. This entails conducting thorough research to uncover potential grants, donations, sponsorships, and other financial avenues that align with our mission and objectives. The role requires a proactive approach to networking and relationship-building with donors, foundations, and corporate partners to secure financial support. Additionally, it involves analyzing funding trends, maintaining a database of potential funding sources, and preparing compelling proposals to attract new investments. We develop and maintain a comprehensive Annual Grants Plan that documents all grant opportunities pursued, whether successfully secured or ultimately declined. Grant Management Crafting and consolidating persuasive funding proposals to successfully secure financial support for the organization is a key responsibility. Drafting of full proposals To ensure the seamless integration and dissemination of all necessary information, the role involves managing and synchronizing various data streams. This requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to consolidate disparate sources into a cohesive and accurate informational framework. All required documentation must be submitted punctually and without delay. We are responsible for maintaining a comprehensive repository that houses all necessary supporting documentation mandated by funders. This includes ensuring the organization, accessibility, and up-to-date status of all required materials to meet compliance and reporting obligations. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining a Grant Tracking Tool to oversee grant progress, ensure compliance, and evaluate performance. Provide assistance to the Legal Counsel in the procurement and execution of grant or subsidy agreements. Business Support Monthly stakeholder meetings are conducted with partners to ensure consistent program alignment. We facilitate active participation and coordination in governance forums while monitoring the progress of strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Minimum Qualifications/ Traits: Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related business discipline. With a minimum of three years of hands-on experience, candidates must demonstrate a deep and practical understanding of grant management processes. Able to thoroughly evaluate proposals, detect potential financial and operational risks, and deliver substantiated recommendations. Professionals with a strong passion for renewable energy and rural electrification initiatives across Africa are encouraged to apply. A deep understanding of sustainable energy solutions and their transformative impact on underserved communities is highly valued. Familiarity with off-grid and mini-grid systems, as well as experience in project development and implementation in rural settings, will be considered advantageous.
