We are currently seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst and Financial Risk Manager to join our team. This is a local fixed-term employee contract position. The role encompasses a defined set of key performance indicators, responsibilities, and expected outcomes to ensure measurable contributions to the organization. Professionals in this position will be entrusted with executing specific tasks that align with strategic objectives, while delivering results that meet or exceed established performance benchmarks. Through diligent execution of duties, individuals will demonstrate accountability and drive impactful outcomes that support broader business goals.
Liquidity & Cash Management
Monitor daily cash positions, oversee banking relationships and account compliance with established mandates, and generate liquidity reports in accordance with central bank templates. This position encompasses treasury operations management, including the placement of fixed deposits, monitoring liquidity status and funding obligations. Additionally, the role provides branch and liquidity support—such as ensuring adequate cash availability at the branch level, enforcing internal controls for cash holdings and/or transfers, and overseeing internal fund movements.
Deal Processing & Settlement
Ensure precise execution of foreign exchange (FX) and money market deal booking, validation, and settlement. Collaborate with counterparties to secure favorable market rates through strategic negotiation. Compile and analyze daily FX and FD rate movements to provide management with insights for pricing and review. Track and document all FX and money market transactions with meticulous accuracy. Oversee fixed deposit maturities and guarantee prompt settlement of all agreements. Maintain detailed and systematic records of all treasury activities, encompassing FX transactions and fixed deposits.
Regulatory Compliance
Prepare and file all mandatory regulatory reports while ensuring compliance with central bank regulations and internal risk management policies.
Reconciliation
Work closely with finance and reconciliation teams to address unresolved items and discrepancies. Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including loan interest accrual schedules and corresponding accounting records, fixed deposit accounts (FDRs), financial and market securities accounts, as well as interest income from investments and revenue sources such as fees and commissions.
Relationship with lenders and compliance with covenants
Maintaining robust lender relationships requires ongoing dialogue and strict adherence to loan covenants, among other key responsibilities. Develop pipelines and forge connections with prospective lenders and funders. Introduces and coordinates initial meetings with potential lenders and funders to establish productive relationships. Updating VFT’s profile on a monthly basis to ensure it remains current and accessible to prospective lenders and funders. Facilitates the gathering, organization, and distribution of critical information to support thorough due diligence efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing and organizing all documentation associated with lenders and loan agreements. Collaborate with lenders and banking institutions to verify that all loans are fully registered in compliance with central bank regulations.
Develop and maintain relationships with lenders to explore potential technical assistance opportunities that would benefit VFT. Monthly foreign debt reports mandated by the Central Bank are prepared. Ensure strict adherence to all applicable local tax laws and regulations concerning foreign debts. Compiles reports in the precise format and schedule mandated by lenders.
Preparing and updating a current covenants compliance report for management review.
Ensure the repayment schedule for all loans is consistently updated and shared with the finance manager to guarantee sufficient funds are allocated for timely repayments. Monthly reconciliation entails verifying the accuracy of loan interest accrual schedules against system-recorded account balances to ensure consistency and compliance. Collaborate closely with finance teams or units to ensure full adherence to the terms and conditions of grants and to fulfill all related reporting obligations. The financial close and reporting process, encompassing both month-end and year-end activities, along with audit preparations and execution, falls within the scope of this role.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate precise month-end closing procedures and deliver accurate financial reports.
Responsibilities
Provide assistance in audit-related activities concerning fixed deposits, projects, and VFT lenders. Other duties: Opening staff accounts for new staffs, Updating staff accounts.

Minimum qualifications for this role include specific educational attainment, relevant training, and professional experience. A bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is essential for consideration for this role. A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or a closely related discipline is required. CPA or equivalent will be preferred. A solid grasp of the microfinance industry and/or banking principles is essential for this role. Effectively conveys ideas clearly and articulately in both verbal and written formats. A strong finance or accounting background is required, including in-depth knowledge of fundamental accounting principles, a solid grasp of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), an understanding of current business trends, and proficiency in interpreting financial statements. Good analytical & reporting skills. Demonstrates a solid grasp of local regulatory frameworks, with particular emphasis on compliance pertaining to foreign debt obligations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Model and demonstrate effective Christian values. Demonstrates proficiency in general ledger operations and possesses the ability to effectively manage month-end and year-end financial close processes. Proficient in utilizing accounting software applications and possesses advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with a strong command of functions such as LOOKUP and pivot tables. Exceptional precision and meticulous focus, along with a strong numerical aptitude and quantitative proficiency.
