St. Charles Lwanga Buikwe Hospital, a private not-for-profit facility owned by the Catholic Diocese of Lugazi and supported by Archdiocese Caritas Prague from the Czech Republic, with an affiliation to the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau, is seeking a dedicated and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to healthcare excellence in Uganda.

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the overall strategic vision, ensuring long-term growth and sustainability. This role requires extensive senior leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving organizational success through innovation, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement. Key responsibilities include setting high-level objectives, overseeing executive leadership teams, and fostering a culture of accountability and high performance. Additionally, you will represent the company in critical external engagements, including board meetings, investor relations, and key partnerships, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional decision-making abilities, financial acumen, and the capacity to navigate complex business challenges in a dynamic environment.

In this role, you will oversee a diverse array of critical tasks, including the management of day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory obligations, and fostering collaboration across departments to achieve organizational objectives. You will collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth. You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate progress, identify areas for improvement, and propose data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and operational excellence. You will serve as a liaison between teams and executive leadership, facilitating clear communication, resolving conflicts, and aligning priorities to support overall business success. Additionally, you will mentor and coach team members to cultivate a high-performing culture, while maintaining a strong focus on employee engagement, development, and retention strategies.

You will demonstrate exceptional leadership capabilities and a forward-thinking approach to strategic planning, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long-term vision. You will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive strategies that drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear goals, allocate resources efficiently, and mitigate risks to sustain competitive advantage.

Your responsibilities will also include overseeing and managing day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to organizational standards and policies. You will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. You will manage cash flow, investments, and financial risk while optimizing resources to support strategic objectives. You will analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas requiring improvement. You will prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and performance reports to stakeholders, including senior management and board members. You will collaborate with department heads to align financial strategies with operational goals and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations. You will lead or support financial audits, tax compliance, and other financial assessments as needed.

You will engage with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives, address concerns promptly, and foster collaborative relationships. You will build and maintain strong communication channels to facilitate transparency and trust. You will identify stakeholder needs and expectations, and work to balance competing interests while driving project success. You will regularly update stakeholders on progress, risks, and milestones to secure ongoing support and buy-in.

We seek a seasoned professional to oversee and enhance our Human Resources Management operations, ensuring strategic alignment with organizational goals while fostering a productive and compliant workplace environment. The ideal candidate will oversee talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and compliance with labor regulations, as well as design and implement HR policies to support workforce efficiency and engagement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to collaborate effectively with leadership and employees at all levels, alongside expertise in HR systems and data-driven decision-making to streamline processes and improve outcomes. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required, with advanced certifications (e.g., SHRM or PHR) highly preferred.

This role encompasses fostering community connections and managing public relations initiatives to enhance organizational visibility and stakeholder relations. This position is responsible for cultivating meaningful partnerships, organizing outreach programs, and ensuring consistent, positive communication with the public and key stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills, proficiency in media relations, and the ability to craft compelling messaging are essential. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate experience in event coordination, crisis management, and strategic planning to uphold the organization’s reputation and community standing.

The Hospital Management Team is chaired by this individual, who is responsible for coordinating and overseeing its activities. As the official representative of the Hospital, this role holds the highest authority to publicly commit the organization to positions on key matters.

Qualifications required for this position include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills are essential. • Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
