Job Description: Job Purpose The Part-Time Physical Education Teacher will design and implement dynamic, age-specific physical education programs, fostering students’ physical fitness, athletic abilities, collaboration, self-discipline, and lifelong wellness habits. The position will involve assisting with the school’s extracurricular sports programs, providing coaching and training sessions, and representing the school at sporting events as needed. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute engaging physical education sessions that fully align with the school’s established curriculum standards. Deliver instruction in diverse sports and physical activities tailored to students’ varying ages and skill levels. Promote active involvement, collaboration, adherence to rules, and ethical conduct in athletic pursuits. To tailor activities in a manner that ensures inclusivity for students with varying physical capabilities and proficiency levels. Evaluate and track students’ advancement in physical education programs. Maintain accurate documentation of student engagement levels and academic outcomes. Provide assistance to school sports teams and extracurricular athletic programs. Provide support in the organization and execution of sports days, competitions, tournaments, and various school sporting events. Provide instruction and mentorship to students in applicable sporting disciplines as needed. “Maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism during all physical education activities.” Perform thorough examinations of sports equipment and facilities to identify and document any potential safety hazards or deficiencies. Provide vigilant oversight of students throughout instructional periods and athletic engagements. Encourage students to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles, fitness routines, and overall wellbeing through targeted initiatives and educational programs. Maintain clear, professional communication with the Head of School, faculty members, and parents as needed. Adhere strictly to the school’s safeguarding protocols, health and safety regulations, and student conduct guidelines. Engage in staff meetings and other school-related activities as deemed necessary. Qualifications & Experience Holders of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Holders of a degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Education, or a cognate discipline are encouraged to apply. . A relevant teaching credential would be highly beneficial. Experienced professionals in physical education instruction or youth coaching are encouraged to apply. Desired qualifications include prior involvement in school sports programs. Possesses a solid understanding of various sporting disciplines. First Aid certification is considered a beneficial qualification. Demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of child protection protocols and health and safety regulations.
