Key responsibilities include the following: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop, deliver, and assess technical training programs to ensure comprehensive skill enhancement and knowledge transfer among participants. Develop instructional materials and evaluations specifically for on-the-job training programs, ensuring they are practical and effective for hands-on learning. Perform in-depth root-cause analysis as part of technical troubleshooting processes. Experienced professionals will provide tailored guidance and strategic advice to frontline managers, equipping them with effective methodologies to address and resolve technical skills deficiencies. Collaborate with first-line managers in technical operational domains to pinpoint areas requiring skill enhancement. Perform a comprehensive assessment of technical operations training requirements at the Mills. Design and implement in-house training initiatives for employees to enhance their skills and performance on the job. Provide hands-on instruction to employees through diverse training methodologies. Perform both pre- and post-training evaluations, then provide detailed feedback to participants. Attend manufacturing operations meetings and engage in skill enhancement committees to contribute to ongoing process improvements and workforce development initiatives. Conduct a thorough assessment of skill deficiencies observed during problem-solving discussions to determine underlying causes as part of root cause analysis. Revise TOPS charts routinely and maintain their visual presentation. Facilitate follow-up sessions to reinforce and expand upon TOPS training content. Develop technical training modules and assist in creating work instructions as part of the training development process. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all technical training activities. Prepare and deliver technical training progress updates to direct supervisors and relevant management personnel. Formal upskilling initiatives will be designed, implemented, and managed, including programs such as Pan Boiling and Operator Utility Day Training, to foster continuous professional development. The role involves overseeing and administering process trainee, learner ship, and apprenticeship programs to ensure effective development and integration of participants. Required legal and mandatory SHERI training must be coordinated for obtaining specific licenses or certifications. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring the on-site operations of external training providers to verify adherence to site-specific Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, and Quality (SHERI) policies and procedures. Assist with the formulation and review of annual Learning and Development (L&D) budget proposals. Facilitate the coordination of training sessions and venues by liaising with the on-site Learning and Development (L&D) administrator. Adhere to and actively promote Igloo’s established procedures, policies, and guidelines, encompassing, but not limited to, those governing SHERI, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC). Collaborate effectively with the Learning and Development Officer to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and overall goals. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Full grade 12 Certificate. Diploma in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required. Assessor and facilitation of learning competency certificates are mandatory requirements. A minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in Sugar Production Operations, specifically within laboratories such as Mill, DAC, and Environmental, as a Frontline Manager (FLM). A strong grasp of business principles; a genuine enthusiasm for growth and progress; excellent communication and assertiveness; adept at influencing outcomes and negotiating agreements; collaborative team player; strong planning and organizational abilities; sharp analytical and problem-solving capabilities; proficiency with technology; capacity to oversee multiple projects simultaneously; and effective multitasking.
