Responsibilities
Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory standards as well as Garrick's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. All Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) concerns must be formally documented through the submission of an incident report. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on all plant equipment to ensure operational efficiency and reliability. Verify that all work completion details are thoroughly finalized in strict adherence to established requirements and protocols. Ensure the plant is operated and maintained in strict adherence to established company policies and standard operating procedures. Ensure strict adherence to isolation and lock out permit procedures at all times. Responsibilities include maintaining adequate inventory levels for all sensor types, including pressure, temperature, valve, and flow meter devices. Investigate and resolve process control discrepancies and engineering challenges systematically to ensure operational efficiency. Housekeeping and maintaining site neatness shall be the individual's primary responsibility, ensuring a clean and orderly work environment at all times.
Inspect the plant thoroughly to identify any defects or maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations while maintaining the plant's operations. Acquire a comprehensive grasp of the plant's operational workflow and the overarching control strategy. Any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions must be reported to the supervisor without delay. Adhere to established housekeeping standards and implement the 5S methodology to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace. Ensure the continuous monitoring and maintenance of process flows, feed systems, and water quality standards. Inspect, test, evaluate, and calibrate electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications. Maintain meticulous documentation of calibration activities, including a detailed inventory of utilized parts and components, as well as the current stock of available items. Evaluate and troubleshoot instrumentation within electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and programmable logic control (PLC) systems.
Qualification Requirements
Analyze engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to ascertain appropriate work procedures. Facilitate the seamless transition of information during shift changes within the designated area of responsibility. Diligently detect and address any deviations in plant performance to maintain optimal operational efficiency. Deliver all projects with precision and within established deadlines. Ensure adherence to Engineering standards by thoroughly cleaning equipment using scrapers, wire brushes, and cleaning solvents to uphold housekeeping protocols. A Bachelor's or Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Industrial Automation is required.
Experience and Competencies Needed
Instrumentation Trade Test Certificates. Experienced professionals with a minimum of two years in post-trade testing roles are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of diagnostics SCADA system. Capable of performing routine maintenance and installation tasks for Allen Bradley PLC systems. Fundamental understanding of Siemens PLC maintenance and installation practices. Industrial Field Instrumentation Fault Finding. Ethernet Networks (wired and wireless). Process Control Systems. VSD and Soft Starters. Seasoned professionals with hands-on expertise in maintaining mills, crushers, conveyors, compressors, pumps, and CIL tanks are sought for this role. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in plant maintenance, ensuring the efficient operation of critical equipment such as milling systems, crushing units, material handling systems, air compression units, fluid transfer pumps, and cyanide leach tanks. Demonstrates a solid understanding of equipment safety protocols and compliance requirements. Professional experience in maintenance within an industrialized facility is advantageous. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in English, encompassing both written and verbal communication abilities. Hazard identification and Risk assessment. Understand technical drawings and manuals. VETA Driving Certificate. Must hold a valid Tanzanian Class B, C, D, or E driving license. Proficient in operating vehicles equipped with manual transmission, commonly referred to as stick shift transmission, with demonstrated skill and confidence. Demonstrated expertise in technical domains coupled with extensive experience in strategic planning initiatives and frameworks. Consistently demonstrating the capability to oversee a wide-ranging portfolio while thriving under demanding circumstances is essential. Maintaining exceptional professionalism at all times and demonstrating the capacity to engage effectively with a diverse clientele is essential. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of all domains outlined in the profile. A self-driven professional capable of performing effectively with minimal oversight is required.
