Background information about the job or company (e.g., role context, company overview) RHSP is in search of two Research Assistants to assist with a pilot randomized controlled trial focused on assessing peer-delivered, based Prep care tailored for rural female sex workers. The selected candidates will facilitate participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, enrollment, randomization, and follow-up procedures, while also coordinating both and clinic-based study activities and overseeing Peer Workers who deliver based Prep services. The position includes participant retention and tracing, research data collection, urine sample processing, quality assurance, Prep commodity tracking, study documentation, and the reporting of adverse events or protocol deviations. Research Assistants will also assist with study budget management, participant reimbursements, financial accountability, and reporting. Ideal candidates must possess knowledge of HIV prevention and Prep care, have prior experience working with high-risk populations for HIV, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Luganda, and be willing to travel frequently by motorcycle to designated study sites. Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing operational, strategic, and administrative functions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Execute key responsibilities that include managing teams, optimizing workflows, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Experience with software development, data structures, and algorithms is mandatory, and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) is preferred. Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset are also necessary to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
