Safety & Quality Officer Department: Engineering Location: Project Site We are seeking a Safety & Quality Officer To facilitate the execution of construction project tasks, assuming an equal share of responsibility for Safety and quality management responsibilities are equally distributed, with each area comprising 50% of the role’s focus. The position requires diligent oversight of safety protocols and stringent adherence to quality standards to ensure operational excellence. Key duties include implementing safety initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, alongside monitoring quality control processes, identifying performance gaps, and driving continuous improvement efforts. Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to foster a culture of safety and quality are essential for success in this role. . Key Responsibilities Perform routine safety assessments of sites to pinpoint potential hazards and unsafe conditions, ensuring compliance with established safety protocols. Ensure adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols and maintain safe working practices throughout operations. Oversee potentially hazardous operations, including elevated work, hot work, lifting activities, and electrical tasks. Facilitate and deliver Toolbox Talks, safety briefings, and relevant training sessions to ensure workforce awareness and compliance with safety protocols. Investigate and document incidents and near misses, providing thorough support throughout the investigative process. Perform quality inspections to verify adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. Evaluate the quality of construction workmanship, materials, and work processes to ensure adherence to established standards and specifications. Investigate, document, and monitor safety and quality issues to ensure all corrective actions are fully resolved and closed. Ensure meticulous documentation of safety and quality records, reports, and checklists to maintain compliance and accountability. Facilitate the execution of inspections, testing procedures, and project handover processes. Foster and uphold a robust safety and quality culture throughout the project site. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, and Safety Engineering graduates are encouraged to apply for this opportunity. Qualifications include a relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree, professional certifications (such as PE, LEED, or OSHA), and at least three years of hands-on experience in project execution, design oversight, or compliance monitoring. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Refit, or Primavera P6). The role demands meticulous attention to detail, adherence to regulatory standards, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Successful candidates will oversee construction phases, conduct safety audits, and ensure alignment with design specifications and safety protocols. or a related field. 1–3 years’ experience Experienced professionals in construction or project site management are sought for dynamic roles. These positions require expertise in overseeing construction projects or managing site operations effectively. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in construction methodologies, project planning, and team leadership. Responsibilities include coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Proficiency in project management tools and techniques is essential for success in these roles. Proficiency in construction safety regulations and quality assurance protocols is required. Proficient in recognizing potential site hazards and construction quality deficiencies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required. . Effective interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability in organization and planning, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of accountability are essential. Demonstrates a readiness and adaptability to operate within construction and project site environments.
