DRC Uganda is currently looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as Child Protection Project Manager The overall purpose of the role:

The Child Protection (CP) Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the DK Media child protection project in Rhino Camp and Imvepi refugee settlements, lead the development of context-sensitive strategies and provide technical expertise in child protection programme design, implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance ensuring the delivery of high-quality child protection prevention and response interventions, including child protection case management, alternative care support for unaccompanied and separated children (UASC), positive parenting, adolescent life skills programming and community-based child protection. Drawing on a strong understanding of the West Nile refugee response context, the CP Project Manager will lead the delivery of high-quality, and accountable protection programming that responds effectively to the needs of refugees and host communities. The role holder will also foster collaboration with government authorities, UN agencies, implementing partners, and community stakeholders to enhance programme impact and sustainability.

Responsabilités

Your main duties and responsibilities will be: Project Cycle Management Coordinate, plan and monitor DK Media project activities in Rhino Camp and Imvepi according to DRC Project Cycle Management (PCM) Guide and donor compliance. Coordinate with the other Program Managers, the Country Protection Manager and Programme Development and Quality Manager to ensure the highest quality of the sectoral interventions, and the coherence between all projects, ongoing and proposed, according to the overall strategy. Ensure quality implementation of child protection prevention interventions, including awareness raising, positive parenting and adolescent life skills sessions. Ensure quality implementation of child protection case management in line with DRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), national guidelines and Inter-Agency CP Case Management guidelines. Ensure implementation of Best Interests Procedures and appropriate alternative care arrangements for UASC. Ensure high-quality project activity narrative reports and financial reports are delivered timely as per the agreed reporting schedules, in close collaboration with the Program Development and Quality Manager and Country Finance Manager. Collaborate with the Protection Specialist to develop project related operational tools and training modules for project staff, CBOs, RLOs and para-social workers. Lead on monthly, quarterly and annual donor reporting.

Lead in the Project Management Meeting (PMM) to ensure close tracking of activity performance, budget monitoring, financial management and expenses control for the project activities in compliance with minimum DRC and donor requirements.

Representation of DRC and active participation in sectoral and relevant sub sectors/working groups. Oversee knowledge sharing across teams and ensure that monitoring and evaluation results are understood and used to improve programs. Ensure child safeguarding principles are integrated across all project activities. Accountability and reporting Guided by the DRC Programme Handbook, continously monitor and develop relevant accountability initiatives within relevant project program as well as strengthening the effort to document the impact of activities. Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements including timely, accurate and high-quality narrative reporting, procurement and donor compliance. Partner Management and Capacity Strengthening Conduct regular capacity assessments of local partners and develop tailored capacity-strengthening plans. Coordinate partner performance review meetings and monitor budget utilization against approved plans and projections. Provide technical support and guidance on CP programme implementation, donor requirements, work planning, budgeting, and application of DRC technical standards. Monitor partner performance through progress report reviews, field monitoring visits, and implementation of corrective action plans to ensure quality delivery and compliance. People Management Lead and manage Project staff members, providing regular supervision, coaching, performance management, and capacity development Promote respectful and positive working relationships that enable effective implementation of project activities through leadership, team building, day-to-day support and capacity development. Lead and support recruitment processes and ensure that relevant staffing structures are in place and are reflective of appropriate gender and diversity balance. Promote professional development by identifying training and capacity building opportunities and ensure staff are well versed in child protection principles, child safeguarding, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), DRC's code of conduct, accountability, respectful dialogue with the affected populations, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) Collaborate with the HR & Administration Department personnell in Arua and Kampala to ensure staff performance evaluations are conducted. About you

Expérience

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in designing and delivering child protection programming for refugees and other vulnerable communities.. Moreover, we also expect the following. Required Bachelor's degree in Law, Social work, Social sciences, Development studies, or relevant fields. Demonstrated knowledge of the refugee context in Uganda, and West Nile in particular. At least 3 years’ experience with people management and at least 2 years of experience as a Project Manager Strong understanding of global and national child protection standards and approaches, including the Minimum Standards for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action (CPMS). Demonstrated experience in CP case management, including supervision of case management services and coordination of referrals for children at risk. Experience supporting community-based CP mechanisms and strengthening the capacity of Community Based Organisations (CBOs), RLOs and government CP structures. Very good understanding of both global and national protection standards and approaches.

Formation / Diplômes

Experience designing technical components of child protection programs, including demonstrated knowledge of protection information management systems. Very good organizational and management skills. Exceptional spoken and written English as well as analytical skills. Knowledge of written & spoken English. Desirable Knowledge of the local languages spoken in the operation area.
