As part of its sponsorship program for vulnerable children and orphans, ZFA is recruiting an OSP-OVC Program Officer.
Job Description
The Programs Officer OSP/OVC will report to the Programs Manager; and implements programs within Mali to ensure program and financial transparency and stewardship of donor funds.
The program officer OSP/OVC (under Programs Manager management) will regularly communicate with Zakat Foundation of America headquarters, implements, and follows up ongoing and new programs, collects data from the field, and provide regular updates/reports to the program department, and ZFA Mali office.
Responsibilities
Participate in the management of development and seasonal programs including analysis, proposal preparation, budget creation, implementation, and evaluation.
Communicate between Mali office and the head quarter as necessary, especially regarding child sponsorship program, via phone & email, establishing systematic and timely reporting, filing, dissemination of information, and analysis.
Prepare periodic reports regularly and submit it to the main office adhering to strict deadlines and high-quality multimedia documentation.
Pursue strict financial transparency information for all projects by collecting and maintaining records of funds used, receipts, and other information, as required.
Regularly communicate with the Programs Manager to provide program updates, evaluations and confer on program decisions.
Organize, file, and keep detailed records of all programs on the appropriate folders.
Participate in the designing and write-up of new proposals for funding.
As a representative of Zakat Foundation of America, must assure honest, timely and responsible dealings in all meetings, interactions, travels and any other activities.
Oversee the management of the child care center (commonly called “Orphanage”).
Child Sponsorship Responsibilities
Develop conceptual notes/proposals new programs child sponsorship programs and new scale ups as a process of enrolling children in projects and maintenance of program.
Provide guidance and support to children families and all stakeholders with launching and management of the program, collecting updates, and finance utilizations.
Investigate and document the enrollment and status changes of orphans/children and promptly notify the head quarter.
Prepare updates on orphans routinely and submit the appraisal to the headquarters.
Prepare comprehensive periodic reports, case studies along with media materials and submit it to the headquarter.
Profile
A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 year of program experience in a non-profit.
To perform this position, you must be fluent in French and English (this may be tested).
Ability to develop strong and comprehensive cultural diplomacy and sensibility in dealing with Zakat Foundation of America (ZF) program partners and supporters.
Experience in direct administration of programs and budgets.
Knowledge of programs and issues in the field of development preferred.
Exceptional ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Work is in the Zakat Foundation Mali Office.
Position requires frequent and regular phone and computer use.
