Kenchic Limited, the leading producer of poultry in East and Central Africa, is looking for a Technical Sales Representative for the Coast region, focusing on DOC Sales. Since 1984, Kenchic has grown from producing broiler and layer day-old chicks to a fully integrated poultry operation that also offers processed chicken and further processed products like smoked sausages, choma sausages, and sausages. Headquartered at Exsan House along Enterprise Road, Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in the region.
This is a full-time position requiring a Bachelor's degree, Higher National Diploma, Diploma, or Professional Certificate. The role is based in the Sales and Business Development field.
About the Role
You will be responsible for acquiring new business by selling day-old chicks and agro-veterinary products, handling associated debt, and offering technical support to customers' businesses within your assigned sales locations.
Job Responsibilities
Contribute to overall company profitability by achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual chicks' sales targets and other complementary products supplied by Kenchic in your area of operation.
Drive sales and support company profitability by organizing promotional activities, farm visits, seminars, and livestock shows to increase day-old chick volumes for broilers, layers, and Kenbro.
Promote and maintain Kenchic's quality standards on farms by providing basic technical advice on management, vaccines, and required poultry equipment to newly recruited farmers, small-scale farmers, and potential farmers.
Generate insightful reports on market intelligence and parameters that impact DOC sales and quality. Provide data and maintain accurate records on competitors' activities in your areas of operation, ensuring that management is fully informed at all times.
Maintain positive business relationships with customers by collecting and monitoring customer feedback and promptly communicating customer complaints. Build and regularly update a customer database in your area of jurisdiction to keep track of customer numbers and identify trends in customer loyalty.
Participate in Kenchic's efforts at maximizing revenue and maintaining a loyal customer base by implementing the regional poultry distribution plan to assist Kenchic's appointed distributors and agents.
Safeguard and manage all assigned funds, materials, and equipment securely and efficiently to maximize the use of the organization's assets.
Ensure compliance with the company's policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Candidate Profile
You should hold a Degree or Diploma in animal science, animal production, or animal health. A professional certification in Marketing is an added advantage. You must have a minimum of 2 years' work experience in a customer technical support role in the poultry industry. Additionally, you must be registered, retained, and hold a valid practicing license from the Kenya Veterinary Board.
