Job Purpose The Audit and Assurance Manager is tasked with overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements in compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), relevant legislation, and the firm’s established audit methodology. This position requires leadership of audit teams, cultivation of robust client relationships, and the consistent delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services within stipulated timelines. Key Responsibilities Oversee a portfolio of audit engagements, guiding each from initial planning stages through to final completion.

Localisation

• Establish and oversee comprehensive audit plans, including detailed budgets, realistic timelines, and necessary resource allocations to ensure efficient and effective execution. Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of financial reporting and audit risks to identify potential issues and their impact.
• Evaluate audit documentation, financial statements, management correspondence, and audit reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collect and maintain adequate, relevant audit evidence, ensuring thorough documentation throughout the process.

Uphold adherence to International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), relevant statutory requirements, and the organization’s established policies.

• Offer expert technical counsel on intricate audit and accounting issues. Oversee, guide, and assess the performance of audit team members to ensure optimal productivity and professional growth.
• Oversee engagement budgets, track timelines, monitor staff utilization, and ensure profitability.
• Foster and sustain robust client relationships while delivering audit findings with clarity and professionalism.
• Complete and archive engagement files in accordance with the specified deadlines. Assist in conducting quality reviews, overseeing regulatory inspections, and facilitating the implementation of corrective actions. Contribute to the preparation of client proposals, lead business development efforts, and drive strategic initiatives forward. Maintain strict adherence to independence, confidentiality, professional ethics, and all applicable information security protocols. Qualifications and Experience Applicants must possess: Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related academic discipline. A fully recognized professional credential, such as ARCA, CA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification, is required.

Must hold a current, valid RICA Membership in good standing. We seek candidates with at least seven (7) years of hands-on audit experience. With a minimum of two years of proven managerial or equivalent leadership experience, candidates should demonstrate a track record of effectively guiding teams and driving organizational success. Demonstrates comprehensive expertise in International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and relevant regulatory frameworks. Skilled in overseeing a diverse portfolio of audit projects while leading and coordinating professional teams effectively. Demonstrates strong aptitude in utilizing audit software and Microsoft Office applications effectively. To ensure exceptional client satisfaction and maintain high retention rates, the role involves actively engaging with clients to understand their needs, promptly addressing any concerns, and delivering consistent value to foster long-term relationships.
