Transitioning toward a predominantly renewable focus, Contour Global is decarbonizing its thermal fleet while advancing large-scale renewable energy and battery storage projects. Leveraging in-house expertise in development, engineering, and operations, the company currently has over 2 GW of renewable and battery energy storage systems (BESS) under construction and approximately 15 GW in development. Through its advanced commercial and energy management capabilities, it collaborates with utilities, industrial clients, and digital infrastructure operators to offer customized power solutions via long-term contracts, corporate PPAs, and powered-land arrangements that expedite data center deployments. The Operations Intern will support the Operations Department in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient functioning of the power plant. Under the guidance of seasoned operators and shift supervisors, the intern will assist in monitoring plant equipment, documenting operational data, conducting routine inspections, and adhering to established procedures while gaining hands-on experience in power generation, process control, and plant safety. Key Responsibilities: – Support the monitoring of Wartime W 20 V 34 SG gas engines and related auxiliary systems to ensure peak performance. – Assist in the startup and shutdown of plant equipment under the supervision of the Operations Shift Engineer or Shift Supervisor. – Record and track operating parameters of critical plant equipment, including gas engines, reverse osmosis (RO) systems, gas reduction stations, electrical and cooling systems, and other auxiliary components. – Perform routine plant inspections to detect anomalies, promptly escalating any deviations to the Operations Shift Supervisor. – Respond to plant emergencies—such as fire alarms, gas releases, or equipment failures—in accordance with established protocols. – Contribute to operational decision-making by gathering and analyzing plant performance data while following approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). – Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas and equipment to uphold high housekeeping standards. – Ensure accurate maintenance of operational logs, shift reports, equipment checklists, and digital records in compliance with company and regulatory standards. – Assist in implementing Lockout/Ragout (LOT) procedures and adhere to all safety protocols prior to maintenance activities
