Family TV, the East and Central Africa's largest Christian television broadcaster and Kenya's most watched faith channel, is seeking a Junior Video Editor to join our dynamic team. As a leader in Christian entertainment programming since 1999, we offer 24 hours of faith and inspirational content that appeals to a wide variety of denominations.

This is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya, within our Content, Editorial, and Journalism department. We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about storytelling and video production.

Key Responsibilities:

Edit and assemble raw footage into high-quality video content for television and digital platforms. Work closely with the production team to understand project requirements and creative direction. Trim footage and arrange sequences to produce engaging and compelling stories. Incorporate music, dialogue, graphics, captions, transitions, and visual effects where appropriate. Produce rough cuts for review and implement revisions to deliver final edits. Organize and archive video content to ensure easy retrieval and proper storage. Maintain consistency with the Family Media brand and production standards. Keep up to date with current editing techniques and industry trends to enhance content quality.

Requirements:

A diploma or degree in Film Production, Video Editing, Media Studies, or a related field. At least 2 years' experience in video editing. Practical experience using Final Cut Pro for video editing is a must. A good understanding of video editing techniques, storytelling, and pacing.

Skills:

Creative mind and storytelling skills. Ability to work within deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.

Expert Application Advice

When applying to Family Media, don’t just list your degree—show how you used a relevant skill to solve a past challenge. If the posting asks for les compétences demandées dans l'annonce, briefly describe one hands-on project where you applied it. This turns your CV from passive to proactive.

Positioning — Your cover letter must answer one question: why YOU for THIS specific role right NOW? Avoid generic templates — one sentence on what you specifically bring beats three generic paragraphs.

First role — Lead with motivation and concrete academic/personal projects. Show thorough research on this organization — curious, well-informed junior candidates consistently outperform more experienced but less engaged profiles.

🎯 Make your application ATS-ready

ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) are the software recruiters use to automatically filter CVs before any human reads them. Our CV builder is specifically designed to pass these filters — and it takes under 3 minutes.

  • Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
