Overview
The Assistant Accountant shall report to the Accountant. S/He will be responsible for:
Validating invoices, requisitions and other documents against items or services Maintaining cashbook and other ledgers as necessary on monthly basis Issuing and maintain receipts and other acknowledgement documents Maintaining accounting records and files in both electronic and physical form Preparing monthly bank and other reconciliations Raising and maintaining payment vouchers Posting transactions into the accounting packages Stores management e.g. prepare requisitions, receipting, issuing, updating records and preparing reports
Responsibilities
Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time.
Profile
Essential: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from accredited and reputable Institution
Experience
Three years experience in similar position and roles Be a registered member of Malawi Accountants Board (MAB) and Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) Be able to work with minimum supervision Have ability to work under pressure Have knowledge in QuickBooks accounting package Have high degree of integrity and professionalism.
