The Project Officer – Land Titling will deliver hands-on implementation support for Raising The Village’s land tenure and registration initiative in underserved communities across Uganda. Reporting to the Project Manager – Land Titling, this role oversees daily community engagement efforts, collaborates with local land governance bodies, assists with land mapping and data collection, and maintains thorough documentation of project activities in designated districts. Serving as a critical liaison, the Project Officer will facilitate coordination among the project team, Area Land Committees, customary leaders, and local government entities while ensuring that field operations are executed punctually, with precision, and in a manner that prioritizes inclusivity and community responsiveness. Candidates for this position must demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, a high tolerance for field-based work, and a functional understanding of localized land governance systems. Oversee a range of critical duties encompassing project execution, team coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Data collection entails gathering accurate information on various parameters, including environmental, demographic, and infrastructural aspects, through field surveys, remote sensing, and digital tools. Quality assurance ensures the reliability and precision of collected data through systematic validation, verification, and adherence to established standards and protocols. Perform or facilitate GPS and boundary mapping, geo-fencing, and household data collection in accordance with established tools and protocols. Perform initial validation of data gathered in the field to confirm its completeness, precision, and uniformity prior to submission. Support the digitization process by uploading field data into RTV’s digital platforms while identifying and flagging any discrepancies for further review. Ensure strict compliance with data protection regulations and ethical guidelines in every data collection initiative undertaken. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, compiling comprehensive reports, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through structured learning initiatives. They develop and implement policies that promote accessibility, equity, and participation for diverse groups, addressing barriers to full engagement in social, educational, or professional settings. Additionally, they oversee safeguarding measures to identify, prevent, and respond to risks, including training staff on recognition of abuse or vulnerability and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards to uphold the welfare of all stakeholders. Advocate for gender-responsive and inclusive strategies throughout community sensitization and registration initiatives. Provide assistance in engaging with at-risk households to safeguard equitable access to and security throughout the registration process.
