Role Purpose The Engineering Surveyor will deliver specialized surveying expertise to support all Lot-related construction activities, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy throughout the project. In executing duties, the role entails overseeing transfer controls, managing volume measurements, and ensuring adherence to established construction tolerances. The position holds vital importance in ensuring precision across alignment, earthworks, and structural construction activities. Key Responsibilities

• Establishing all Lot works, which encompass the following tasks: o Road alignment o Culverts and structures We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the operation and maintenance of toll plaza and weighbridge platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient processing of vehicles, accurate toll collection, and compliance with regulatory standards. Responsibilities include managing toll collection staff, conducting routine inspections, and addressing any operational issues promptly. The role requires a strong understanding of traffic management, basic mechanical knowledge for equipment upkeep, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
• Oversee the upkeep and functionality of secondary control networks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Conduct detailed layer level conformance surveys to ensure adherence to the tolerances specified in Appendix 6, Section D.4.
• Conduct volume surveys to accurately record and measure data.

Responsible for capturing as-built data and generating comprehensive reports. Daily assistance is provided to foreman teams to facilitate setting-out activities. Qualifications & Experience

Expérience

• A bachelor’s degree in Aromatics, Land Surveying, Engineering Surveying, or a related field is required. A TEV ETA Diploma, complemented by a minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, will be considered acceptable for this position.
• A minimum of 10 years of hands-on engineering survey experience specifically in road construction projects is required.
• Expertise in: o Control transfer We are seeking a skilled professional to undertake the precise task of establishing road alignment through setting out procedures. This role requires a solid background in civil engineering or surveying, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting design plans, marking key points along the proposed roadway, and ensuring alignment adheres to engineering specifications. Proficiency with surveying equipment, such as total stations and GPS devices, is essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with construction teams to guide the physical layout of the road. Earthworks volume calculations and subgrade elevation verification are critical responsibilities for this role. The incumbent will be tasked with accurately determining the quantities of excavated and filled materials, as well as meticulously verifying the precise elevations of each soil layer to ensure compliance with project specifications. Proficiency in interpreting and applying survey data, along with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles, will be essential to performing these duties effectively.
• Demonstrated expertise in operating total station and GNSS rover equipment
• Candidates with prior experience in GPS machine-control systems will be given preference during the evaluation process.

• Professional Registration: LIZ registration, as mandated by the Engineering Institution of Zambia Act, constitutes a compulsory requirement for engineers. technologists, and technicians
• Medical & Licences: A mandatory pre-employment medical assessment confirming fitness for duty is required, given the nature of remote site-based work. A valid, full manual driver’s license is a mandatory requirement for all supervisory and engineering positions within this role.
