In Zambia, Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) serve as the cornerstone of the economy, driving employment generation, household income growth, innovation, and economic expansion. These enterprises also significantly contribute to regional and cross-border trade, with women, youth, and persons with disabilities constituting a substantial share of entrepreneurs in the sector. However, MSMEs encounter persistent challenges, including restricted access to financing, business development services, markets, technology, infrastructure, formalization prospects, and regulatory assistance. These obstacles disproportionately impact enterprises owned or led by women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
