About the role: Our Client seeks a Grants Officer to join the Grants, Projects, and Stakeholder Relations Team. This role encompasses the full grant lifecycle, from identifying grant and tender opportunities to managing the application process and providing progress reports to stakeholders during project implementation. Key Responsibilities: Market Analysis Proactively explores and evaluates emerging funding sources to identify viable opportunities aligned with organizational objectives. We are responsible for developing and updating a comprehensive Annual Grants Plan that includes all submitted and declined funding opportunities. Grant Management Crafting and consolidating persuasive proposals to successfully obtain business funding is essential. Drafting of full proposals To ensure the seamless integration of various workflows, the role involves consolidating and disseminating all pertinent data and updates across relevant channels. This position requires meticulous organization and proactive communication to guarantee that all stakeholders receive timely and accurate information. All required documentation must be submitted in a punctual and accurate manner. Responsible for maintaining and organizing a comprehensive repository of all supporting documents mandated by Funders. We are responsible for developing and maintaining a Grant Tracking Tool, designed to monitor the progress, compliance, and performance of grants. Provide comprehensive assistance to the Legal Counsel in the procurement and execution of grant and subsidy agreements. Business Support Conduct monthly meetings with stakeholders and partners to verify ongoing alignment throughout the program’s duration. We facilitate active participation and provide assistance in governance forums while monitoring the implementation of strategic initiatives. Minimum Qualifications/ Traits: Earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration or another business-related discipline. Experienced candidates should possess a minimum of three years in grant management, demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of its processes. Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in evaluating proposals, pinpointing financial and operational risks, and delivering recommendations grounded in solid evidence. Professionals with a keen interest in renewable energy and rural electrification initiatives across Africa are encouraged to apply. Skills & Attributes Experience with funding programs Experienced in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, at an advanced level. Proven proficiency in English composition and grammar is required. Effective verbal and written communication abilities are essential. Interpersonal skills that foster positive interactions with colleagues and clients are required. Languages A strong command of both spoken and written English is essential.
