L'International Rescue Committee (IRC) est l'une des principales organisations mondiales d'aide humanitaire et de développement. Depuis 80 ans, l'IRC est au premier plan des grandes initiatives humanitaires visant à soutenir les personnes déracinées par la guerre, la persécution ou les conflits civils. L'IRC fournit une assistance vitale pour aider les populations à survivre et à reconstruire leur vie, en les accompagnant du danger vers la sécurité. L'Unité urgence de l'IRC (Emergency Unit - EmU) dirige les activités mondiales de préparation et de réponse aux urgences de l'organisation. La mission de l'EmU est de répondre aux besoins immédiats de survie et de réduire les souffrances des populations touchées par un conflit ou une catastrophe pendant la phase aiguë d'une urgence.
