Job Description Assistant Accountant – (2600003B) Job Purpose and Key responsibilities Job purpose The successful candidate will manage the reconciliation of client accounts and address intermediary inquiries in a timely manner. Key responsibilities Daily cash flow management involves overseeing customer accounts to ensure compliance with the cash-before-cover policy, processing premium collections, and resolving account-related inquiries efficiently. We prioritize customer retention and loyalty by ensuring the prompt disbursement of commissions. Premium payment verification must be completed before processing any claim; claims that are not confirmed within 24 hours will not be processed. Allocating daily receipts to all customer accounts. Providing accounts information to internal departments. The intermediary reconciliation process must ensure no balances remain unresolved for more than 30 days. Monthly reconciliation statements should be issued to intermediaries without delay. Daily collaboration with underwriters is required to confirm receipt of funds and ensure prompt posting where no debit is recorded. Contribute to the successful execution of strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing premium collection and enhancing credit control processes across headquarters and all branches. Ensure prompt responses to all customer and direct client or agency inquiries. Verify and reconcile all commission reports, submitting payments no later than the first week of each month. Distribute all outstanding statements by the 10th of every month. Regional cooperation, expansion, and other duties include promptly addressing all regional inquiries related to credit control matters and consistently delivering all required receivables reports within the specified deadlines. Achieve all performance benchmarks outlined in the departmental strategy map, balanced scorecard, and Personal Scorecard to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and targets. Assisting the supervisor with additional duties as needed. Key Performance Measures Debtors ratio TAT for commission payment TAT for allocation of receipts TAT for reconciliation of intermediary balances Working Relationships. Internal Relationships: Responsible to Management Accountant Required to collaborate closely with the claims, underwriting, and sales departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across teams. This role entails fostering strong working relationships to support efficient processes and alignment of goals between departments. External Relationships: Brokers, Agents, Banks and direct customers TIRA Knowledge, experience and qualifications required A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field is required. With a minimum of two to three years of experience in a comparable position, the ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation of relevant skills and knowledge to this role. 3.
