We are seeking an ESG & Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist. The ESG & MEL Specialist will oversee the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into organizational strategies, ensuring alignment with sustainability objectives and regulatory standards. This role entails designing and implementing robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks to track performance, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement across programs. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven insights, enhance decision-making, and foster a culture of accountability and transparency. Key responsibilities include conducting ESG assessments, reporting on sustainability metrics, and advising leadership on best practices to strengthen organizational resilience and stakeholder trust. Based in Kitwe, this permanent position integrates the development of corporate sustainability (ESG) initiatives with the oversight of project performance and impact assessment (MEL), fostering data-informed growth.
Key Responsibilities :
ESG Management : Develop and oversee comprehensive ESG frameworks, maintain adherence to both local and international regulations, and spearhead risk evaluations and reporting initiatives.
MEL Frameworks : Design data collection instruments, monitor key performance metrics, manage quality assurance processes, and convert data into strategic insights.
Learning & Reporting : Foster a culture of continuous learning within teams and generate thorough impact reports for stakeholders.
Key Requirements :
Education : A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Statistics, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline is required.
Experience : Possesses 1 to 4 years of experience in administering ESG frameworks and/or MEL systems, with a preference for candidates from NGO or corporate sustainability backgrounds.
Skills : Proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, and KoboToolbox/OK, with a strong understanding of the Zambian environmental regulatory framework.
