Job Summary
The General Manager of the WTW Water Center will establish and execute a strategic vision while overseeing day-to-day operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences, optimize staff performance, and cultivate robust partnerships. This position involves overseeing logistics, financial planning, service quality, narrative development, and strategies for engaging guests. Proficiency in cross-cultural communication, fundraising initiatives, leadership, and crafting immersive guest experiences is required.
Key Focus Areas
You will be responsible for managing all operational and logistical functions, such as scheduling, inventory control, global shipping coordination, and customs compliance, specifically for WTW Filter Build and Water Center activities. Ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards, crafting memorable touchpoints, and designing immersive workshops that motivate individuals to champion the WTW mission. Staff management duties include recruiting, training, and cultivating a motivated team entrusted with hosting guests, conducting workshops, and sharing the WTW narrative. Prepare and oversee budgets while ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Maintain and cultivate strategic partnerships to enhance the fundraising platform via the Water Center, thereby advancing the WTW clean water mission.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
The General Manager will oversee logistics, scheduling, inventory management, site development, maintenance, and retail shop operations for the Water Center. This entails collaborating closely with WTW US operations, global shipping, and finance teams to develop a framework for operational sustainability, guided by the Africa Regional Director.
Guest Experience
The General Manager will collaborate within a dynamic team to spearhead the launch of the Water Center in 2026, subsequently overseeing ongoing initiatives to elevate visitor engagement via cutting-edge, interactive experiences and educational offerings. Key responsibilities include: Personally hosting groups of high-profile guests. Developing standardized protocols and best-practice frameworks to guide effective group facilitation efforts. Responsibilities include equipping and guiding team members to facilitate engaging and high-impact workshop sessions. Engage guests in meaningful conversations to motivate them toward advancing their journey with WTW. Fostering an environment of enthusiasm and encouraging meaningful participation from guests.
Partner Development
This position involves maintaining consistent communication, providing constructive feedback, and delivering detailed reports to WTW and key partners to enhance and refine guest experiences. The General Manager will also cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry leaders, to enhance collaboration and drive business growth. Additionally, they will engage with community organizations and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with corporate values and compliance standards. These stakeholders include: Donors, Sponsors, Corporate partners, Key stakeholders within the WTW network. These partnerships will drive the growth of WTW’s network and enhance its revenue-generating opportunities.
Donor Engagement
The General Manager will collaborate with WTW US to create donor engagement tools and facilitate donor and lead generation through the utilization of database systems, such as Salesforce. Responsibilities include: Incorporating storytelling into the guest experience. Supporting the follow-up journey for guests. Fundraising for WTW projects. Supporting water initiatives within Tanzania.
Collaboration
The General Manager will partner with WTW Tanzania and WTW US to effectively communicate the WTW narrative via the Water Center. Additionally, this position will actively contribute to the creation and implementation of innovative guest engagement initiatives.
Financial Management
The General Manager will oversee budget administration, revenue optimization, and financial statement preparation, ensuring fiscal accountability and strategic alignment with organizational objectives. The role is responsible for: Meeting target goals. Optimizing costs. Ensuring the consistent excellence of the guest experience remains a top priority. Supporting financial sustainability.
Staff Leadership
The General Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, onboarding, and mentoring a diverse team of hosts and center staff. This includes: Enforcing best practices. Building cultural sensitivity within the team. The role involves facilitating meaningful interactions between staff and guests, fostering engagement and delivering exceptional service through inspired and effective communication.
Safety And Compliance
The General Manager is responsible for ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and all applicable local regulations. The role encompasses ensuring adherence to quality control standards throughout the DROP Filter assembly process.
Requirements
Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience is required for this position. Professionals with a background in international tourism or luxury lodge operations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a closely related discipline is required for this position.
