Job details Position: Procurement Associate Organization: Niajiri Platform Ltd Industry: Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Employment type: Full-time Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Job description Smart is in search of a proactive and outcome-focused Procurement Associate to oversee the acquisition and procurement of FMCG products, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables. The position demands a skilled individual capable of sourcing dependable suppliers and farmers, tracking market pricing fluctuations, documenting procurement activities, securing advantageous agreements, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to uphold seamless supply chain functionality. Key responsibilities We are responsible for sourcing fast-moving consumer goods, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

• Responsible for identifying and establishing partnerships with dependable suppliers and farmers to ensure consistent product quality. Diligently track inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability and promptly initiate replenishment when necessary.
• Generate and manage Purchase Orders (POs). Negotiate pricing structures, promotional strategies, rebates, and payment conditions to optimize commercial agreements and maximize mutual value.
• Monitor market prices and product availability.
• Maintain stringent quality standards for fresh produce and perishable goods to ensure compliance with established regulations and customer expectations. Collaborate effectively with warehouse, operations, and category teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment across all departments.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics, including lead times and fill rates, to ensure alignment with organizational standards and expectations.
• Analyze sales trends and demand patterns.

Maintain procurement records and supplier databases. Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Agriculture, or a closely related discipline is required.

Expérience

• A minimum of two to three years of hands-on procurement or purchasing experience in fast-moving consumer goods, supermarket operations, retail chains, fresh produce sectors, or wholesale distribution is required.
• Proven expertise in procuring fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables.

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

• Demonstrates strong analytical abilities and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Professional skills
