Responsabilités

Responsibilities The Occupational Health Nurse will oversee and implement programs focused on promoting employee wellness, ensuring workplace safety, and managing health-related risks. Primary duties include conducting routine health assessments, providing emergency care, and addressing occupational injuries or illnesses. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with management to develop health policies, investigating workplace hazards, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The nurse will also maintain accurate medical records, educate employees on health and safety protocols, and participate in wellness initiatives. Strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously are essential requirements for this position. Delivering comprehensive nursing services at the North Mara Mine Clinic constitutes the primary responsibility of this position, ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery to employees and visitors. Perform daily patient triage assessments and facilitate seamless clinic attendance. Administering medications, injections, and vaccinations in accordance with prescribed medical directives is a key responsibility.
• Supporting medical check-ups by conducting essential screenings, including audiometry, spirometry, and vision tests, to ensure comprehensive health assessments. Performing systematic assessments of medical and emergency vehicle apparatus to ensure operational readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintaining employees’ medical records. The position involves overseeing the return-to-work initiative for employees recovering from work-related injuries or extended periods of ill health. Conducting comprehensive evaluations of the workplace to identify any conditions or situations that may pose risks to the health and safety of employees. Conducting health and safety training initiatives, such as site induction sessions, to ensure compliance and awareness among staff.
• Participating in meetings and health-promotion activities.
• Delivering health awareness sessions.
• Develop and execute health initiatives and programs, such as the PHE scheme, First Aid, the HIV/AIDS Workplace Program, and malaria programs. To stay informed about the latest legal and professional developments in public health and occupational health and safety. Qualification requirements Earned a Nursing Diploma from an accredited educational institution. Experience and competencies We seek applicants with a minimum of two to three years of practical experience in the field. Professional experience in the mining sector would be a valuable asset.
