Jackson Engineering Ltd (HEJ), a premier provider of engineering solutions across Malawi’s mining, energy, agriculture, construction, and manufacturing sectors, currently has two openings for TLB Operators (Dump Truck Drivers) at its Rumphi Project Site. Under a one-year fixed-term contract based in Rumphi, these roles report to the Earthworks Foreman or Site Manager within the Plant & Machine/Operations Department. The primary responsibility involves safely and efficiently operating a tipper truck to transport construction materials such as sand, quarry products, soil, and debris while strictly adhering to road safety regulations and company protocols. Key duties include driving the tipper truck for material deliveries and collections, ensuring secure transport without spillage or damage, conducting thorough pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle components (brakes, tyres, oil, lights, fuel, etc.), and coordinating loading and offloading with site personnel. The role also requires maintaining accurate logs of deliveries, fuel consumption, and mileage, as well as complying with all traffic laws and occupational health and safety standards. Additionally, the operator must promptly report any accidents, breakdowns, or mechanical issues, keep the vehicle clean, ensure regular servicing, follow supervisor and dispatch instructions, and perform any other assigned tasks as needed. Candidates must possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education or equivalent qualification, hold a valid Malawian driver’s licence for heavy-duty vehicles (Class C or G), and demonstrate at least two to five years of hands-on experience operating tipper trucks or similar heavy vehicles, supported by a clean driving record free of serious traffic violations.
