Job Description
MSI Ghana invites applications from qualified, experienced, and commercially driven professionals for the position of Sales and Marketing Lead.
Location: Accra, Ghana
Reporting Line: Head of Social Marketing
Probation: 3 months
The Role
The Sales and Marketing Lead is a senior commercial role responsible for driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and brand presence across all MSIG product lines, including condom brands (Flame Condoms), emergency contraceptives (BK1), and pharmaceutical products (Mariprist, Misoclear).
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on sales management across distributors, retail trade, and healthcare institutions in Ghana. The post-holder will own commercial performance, lead a high-performing sales team, and provide actionable insights for business decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven commercial leader with deep experience in sales strategy, team leadership, and market development within healthcare, FMCG, or social marketing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and motivate a team of Sales Representatives and field promotional staff.
Recruit, train, and supervise contract promotional personnel for field activations.
Set ambitious sales targets and monitor performance against KPIs.
Provide coaching, field support, and performance feedback to ensure accountability and results.
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, ensuring stock availability and timely distribution.
Negotiate trade terms, pricing, and promotional support.
Monitor and evaluate distributor and retail partner performance to drive commercial outcomes.
Identify opportunities to expand distributor networks and retail coverage, including nontraditional outlets.
Oversee sales and distribution of pharmaceutical products (Mariprist, Misoclear) to hospitals, clinics, and health facilities.
Build relationships with healthcare professionals and facility managers.
Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and ethical standards.
Identify growth opportunities within public and private healthcare sectors.
Plan and execute Above-the-Line (ATL) and Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing activities.
Lead promotional campaigns, brand awareness initiatives, and market activations.
Monitor campaign performance and optimize for maximum ROI.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align commercial strategy with brand objectives.
Own sales performance frameworks, analyzing trends in revenue, volumes, and market penetration.
Use data insights to challenge teams, recommend improvements, and inform strategic decisions.
Automate and standardize reporting tools and dashboards for timely business review.
Integrate performance data from multiple sources (POS, ERP, EHR, dashboards) to enable actionable decision-making.

Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Social Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred.
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in sales, commercial operations, or social marketing, including 3+ years in a senior sales leadership role.
Proven track record of revenue growth, market expansion, and team leadership.
Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or FMCG sales is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics for business decision-making.
Experience managing distributors, retail networks, and healthcare channels.
