Head of Airfreight – Cameroon
DHL Global Forwarding, the air, ocean, and road freight specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, is looking for a Head of Airfreight to lead our airfreight operations in Cameroon. In this role, you will define and implement the airfreight strategy aligned with the country's business objectives, ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions for our customers.
Your responsibilities:
Formulate the airfreight operations strategy in line with the country’s business strategy and global guidelines.
Lead planning and implementation of airfreight operations plans, measures, and budgets to drive profitability, volume growth, and service expansion.
Develop and control large country projects and initiatives to provide fast, reliable, and efficient airfreight solutions.
Manage end-to-end capacity, optimize network procurement, and implement consolidation opportunities.
Oversee operational sites, capacity procurement, technical support, and local purchasing according to global policy.
Monitor preferred carrier usage and incentive deals.
Steer market profiling and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and challenges.
Define pricing strategies for profitable growth and guide new product identification and implementation.
Liaise with sales teams to support key customer interactions, providing pricing and margin guidance for bids and RFQs.
Set and monitor compliance standards, procedures, and specifications.
Benchmark and embed best-in-class infrastructure and practices.
Use tools to proactively monitor and improve performance.
Conduct regular dialogues with the team to review quality and performance against targets.
What we need from you:
Master's degree.
More than 8 years of experience.
