IUCN, represented by its Bangladesh Country Office, is implementing projects with support from various donors. To ensure the smooth operation of these projects, IUCN requires a Programme Officer (Communication and Knowledge Management).

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**

Under the direct supervision of the Country Representative and functional supervision of Senior Programme Officer (Wildlife Conservation) the Programme Officer (Communication and Knowledge Management) will cater to all communication and knowledge management needs of the CRIS project as requested by be part of a diversified team and will be responsible for implementing the project activities in the field.

  • SPECIFIC DUTIES**

Under direct supervision of the Country Representative and functional supervison of Senior Programme Officer (Wildlife Conservation) Programme Officer (Communication and Knowledge Management) will cater to all communication and knowledge management needs of the CRIS project as requested by and be responsible for the following matter related to the project: -Lead the design and implementation of the project’s communication and knowledge management strategy aligned with IUCN and donor guidelines; -Support the communication requirements of the project as requested by the Senior Programme Officer (Wildlife Conservation); -Develop and manage communication materials, including reports, newsletters, briefs, videos, and digital content to effectively disseminate project outcomes, achievements and lessons learned; -Coordinate with media and partners to ensure visibility of project achievements at national and international levels; -Establish and maintain a knowledge database for ecological, restoration, and community engagement data generated through the project; -Support systemic knowledge capture and evidence collection, ensuring integration of traditional knowledge and project learnings into the database; -Facilitate documentation and dissemination of best practices, case studies, and success stories from field activities; -Assist to establish the Sundarbans Knowledge Forum with the aim of sustaining this forum far beyond the project duration; -Strengthen the Sundarbans Knowledge Forum by supporting meeting coordination, knowledge-sharing sessions, and facilitation of joint action plans; -Develop and update information, education communication and training materials and awareness materials for youth, communities, digital content, and partners under Outcome 4.4.; -Contribute to the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) process through timely reporting and communication of key indicators; -Assist the M&E Focal Point and the Project Manager with indicator tracking, data collection and analysis, quality assurance, and timely reporting following M&E framework of the project; -Develop, manage, and regularly update project-related content for social media platforms, websites, and digital channels, ensuring consistency with IUCN branding, donor visibility requirements, and approved messaging; -Support internal project communications, including preparation of briefs, presentations, talking points, and coordination notes to ensure consistent messaging across project teams and partners; -Assist in communication planning for events, workshops, and field missions, including preparation of agendas, background materials, participant packages, and post-event documentation; -Collaborate with the project team to ensure effective stakeholder engagement, outreach, and event management; -Coordinate translation of communication materials to ensure accessibility for diverse local audiences; -Perform any other tasks assigned by the Country Representative and Senior Programme Officer (Wildlife Conservation) to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes.
