Protection Officer (P3)

The P-3 Protection Officer will oversee the Global Assisted Voluntary Return (AVR) program, ensuring safe and dignified returns for migrants. This role involves conducting protection assessments, managing protection programming, and providing technical guidance to staff. The officer will coordinate with various stakeholders, including government counterparts and IOM missions, to facilitate documentation and access to essential services. The position requires strong leadership, coordination skills, and a commitment to gender-sensitive approaches in protection. Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Law or related field 5 years of relevant professional experience or 7 years with a university degree Experience working with migrants and managing protection programming Strong knowledge of IOM protection standards and operational procedures Fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of another UN language is an advantage Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills Experience in budget coordination and donor-compliant resource planning
