Terms of reference Job Title:  Finance Coordinator Code:  SR-49-10205 Duty station:  Maiduguri with visits to the projects' sites Starting date:  20/06/2026 Contract duration:  until 30/12/2026 Reporting to:  Head of Mission Functional Supervisor:  Regional Finance Coordinator Supervision of: N/A Type of Duty Station:  Non-family duty station General context of the project With over a decade of conflict, there have been devastating humanitarian consequences across North-East (Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) states) and the North-West Nigeria. According to the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan 2025, an estimated 7.8 million women, men, and children need some form of humanitarian and protection assistance. 2.3 million people have been forced to flee their homes due to persistent violence and remain internally displaced. Food insecurity and malnutrition are exacerbated by inflation, poverty, and restricted access due to insecurity, which impedes livelihood opportunities. 5.1 million are projected to be acutely food insecure during the 2025 lean season, with 2.5 million children malnourished. Gender-based violence (GBV) has been a significant protection concern faced byIDP women and girls in the area. Numerous basic infrastructure like hospitals, clinics, water supplies are damaged,posing constraints on essential service provision. Epidemics like cholera arising from flooding and overcrowdedsetting put extra stress to the already vulnerable communities. In support to the coordinated humanitarian response in Nigeria, INTERSOS has been delivering multi-sestoral interventions addressing critical gaps in protection, health and nutrition, WASH, food security & livelihoods, and Camp Coordination and Camp Management for the most vulnerable communities in both Northeast and Northwest Nigeria, with funding support from OCHA, ECHO, WFP, SV, etc. General purpose of the position Define, coordinate and monitor the implementation and management of finance strategies, policies, internal control and all financial administrative in the mission, in line with the context and operational challenges and INTERSOS protocols, standards and procedures, and with the Regional Finance Coordinator’s directions, in order to provide accurate, transparent, timely and reliable financial information to the organization and third parties on the allocation of resources in the projects. Main responsibilities and tasks: Strategy and budget

As an active member of the Senior Management Team, participate in the definition of the missions’ objectives and strategies planning, implementing and monitoring the financial operational and budget needs, anticipating changes and challenges and planning accordingly, in order to ensure budget is appropriate Define the financial strategy for the mission and the country, assessing and mitigating the financial risks of the mission, and the project economic and financial plan together with the Head of Mission and linking with the Project Managers Provide regular and adequate indicators to monitor the financial position of the mission and provide relevant cost analysis, regularly monitor of expenses vs budget, analyse variances and suggest corrective actions when needed Provide support to the Head of Mission and Programme Coordinator on drafting new projects and budget preparation, ensuring the collaboration of other support Departments (HR, Log, Security) Accounting and Treasury
