UNICEF is seeking a national consultant to support a mixed-methods impact assessment study of FunDoo in Kampala, Uganda. The consultant will provide field-level coordination and qualitative research support, including data collection, transcription, and preliminary analysis. Responsibilities also include coordinating the recruitment of adolescents for the quantitative component and tracking participant completion of surveys. This consultancy is remote with a required trip and lasts for six months.
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related fields
At least 3 years of experience in qualitative research
Experience collecting qualitative data with adolescents
Experience in transcription, analysis, and reporting of qualitative data
Proven experience coordinating field recruitment activities
Experience in mixed-methods monitoring and evaluation
Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills in English
The purpose of this national consultancy is to provide field-level coordination and qualitative research support for the mixed-methods impact assessment of the FunDoo in Uganda. This will include:
Conducting qualitative data collection in selected communities and transcribing the qualitative data for the qualitative component of the study
Support preliminary qualitative analysis
Support the coordination of the recruitment of eligible adolescents and young people into the quantitative component of the study
Supporting participant tracking and completion of baseline and follow-up surveys as part of the quantitative component of the study

TERMS OF REFERENCE
The purpose of this national consultancy is to provide field-level coordination and qualitative research support for the mixed-methods impact assessment of the FunDoo in Uganda. This will include:
Conducting qualitative data collection in selected communities and transcribing the qualitative data for the qualitative component of the study
Support preliminary qualitative analysis
Support the coordination of the recruitment of eligible adolescents and young people into the quantitative component of the study
Supporting participant tracking and completion of baseline and follow-up surveys as part of the quantitative component of the study
The consultant will work closely with UNICEF Uganda Country Office and the technical team from the Office of Innovation.

Minimum requirements:
Education: Bachelor`s degree in Social Sciences / Sociology / Psychology / Education / Development Studies / Statistics / Monitoring & Evaluation / And other related fields
Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience in qualitative research
Proven experience collecting qualitative data with adolescents and meaningful participation of adolescents in research and experience using participatory methods.
At least 3 years of experience in transcription, analysis, and reporting of qualitative data
Proven experience of coordinating field recruitment activities
Skills:
Experience in mixed-methods monitoring and evaluation
Experience with U-Report/FunDoo as an added advantage
Knowledge of child safeguarding and ethical research
Language Requirements: Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills in English
