Job Title: Communications Assistant (H/F) Contract Type: Fixed Term Duration: 1 year renewable ## Location Place of employment: Garoua, Cameroon, with frequent movements on the field sites (National Parks of Bénoué and Bouba Ndjidda, ZICs, and some localities such as Rey bouba, Tchollire etc.) Supervision: Communication Manager of the Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda – Benoué ## The Wildlife Conservation Society works to safeguard wildlife and natural habitats through a rigorous scientific approach, an international environmental education program and the management of the world’s largest network of urban wildlife parks. These activities contribute to changing people’s attitudes towards nature and promote sustainable human-wildlife interaction at local and global levels. ## Training / Diplomas WCS has been present in Cameroon since 1988 and since then, works with the Cameroonian government for the management of several protected areas and the training of many conservationist executives. Currently, the program WCS Cameroun works on three main landscapes namely the landscape of Takamanda-Mone, the landscape of Mbam & Djerem, and the Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda - Bénoué which includes the Operational Technical Unit (UTO) of the national park of Bénoué (PNB) and the UTO of the national park of Bouba Ndjidda (PNBN), of which the latter is connected to the national park of Sena Oura. In Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda - Bénoué, WCS implements activities for conservation, stability and sustainable development in and around Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda - Bénoué. The program is part of WCS’s long-term intervention to promote a good governance approach to land use that balances human use and exploitation of natural resources, wildlife protection, including the management of protected areas. In order to ensure the continuity of the activities of the communication department, WCS Cameroun looking for a communication assistant of the Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda - Bénoué who will be in charge of supporting the Communication Manager of the Landscape WCS Bouba Ndjidda – Awarded for communication and visibility of communication activities in order to promote, disseminate and support the objectives of WCS’s conservation strategy.The selected candidate will be based at the Landscape Administrative Office located in Garoua, and will be required to go on the ground to accompany the activities of ongoing projects. ## Under the direct supervision of the WCS Landscape Communication Manager Bouba Ndjidda-Bénoué, the Communication Assistant will be responsible for supporting the implementation of communication activities, public relations and media, content creation and landscape advocacy. More specifically, his responsibilities will be as follows:

• Creation of content and production of the communication channels of the Northern Cameroon program: ## Other information - Under the supervision of the Communications Manager, animate social networks and all other digital platforms set up in the Northern Cameroon Landscape. Êbe strongly involved in the design and production of visual content on a regular basis in videos and print communication tools (information sheets, brochures, infographics of all kinds: reports, brochures etc.) - Produce stories and articles (social networks, websites...) and have the Communication Manager validate it. - Support the capture (photography) photo and videos of activities at the program level and for the capitalization of the activities Internal communication and inter-partner coordination: - Provide technical support in terms of communication in community awareness activities. - Facilitate the design of communication products
