Job Description- Research Medical Officer - he Center for Health Promotion and Research

Background: The Center for Health Promotion and Research provides high-quality diagnostic services, undertakes programs to strengthen health provision, and engages in research to increase knowledge and inform policy change. We are currently implementing research aimed at improving the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Location: Bamenda Position summary: The Research Medical officer will work with an experienced team to implement research and health service delivery activities. Full-time position in Bamenda, with ~5-15% travel to other regions. Typical responsibilities and duties, depending on skill set:

  • Assist in coordinating activities of team to ensure efficient, timely, and high-quality results

  • Perform onsite and remote supervision of sites in collaboration with team and health staff, including review of medical care of those evaluated as part of program activities

  • Monitor key indicators, including quality/ quality indicators, for implementation activities

  • Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare and contribute to reports, presentations and publications

  • Assist in project planning, review and implementation of study to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality results

  • Collaborate with other clinical and research personnel to ensure appropriate care, follow-up and documentation for people to be evaluated for TB and/or study participants

  • Participate in the improvement of the program operational plan and carry out monthly updates with the program management team

  • Stay up-to-date with new and updated relevant protocols, research findings and best practices

  • Conduct literature searches and maintain citation databases

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external
