JOB ADVERSEMENT

Care and Health Program (CHP) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) established in 1996 and based in Cameroon. For over 30 years, CHP has been involved in prevention-related activities, including research on STIs/HIV/AIDS, PMTCT (Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission), family planning activities, community research and awareness campaigns on pandemics and endemic diseases, and the fight against vandalism and drug use, not only in Cameroon but also in Central and West Africa.  As part of the implementation of the project to strengthen surveillance of Guinea worm disease in Cameroon, CHP is a partner of the Carter Center.

In the context of this project, CHP is recruiting a Logistic Officer with the following criteria: Contract period : 3 Months, beginning from May, 2026  Place : Yagoua Contract type : CDD Report to : GWEP Program Manager

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the GWEP Program Manager, the Logistics Officer is responsible is responsible for managing all project acquisitions. His main role is to ensure that everything acquired is transported under the best conditions; he oversees the receipt and evaluation of logistical and supply aspects, in close collaboration with other departments. This position will require frequent travel to areas of GW operations in Yagoua and other parts of Cameroon. Education and Experience/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transport or an equivalent degree 

  • Two (2) years proven experience in the field of logistics

  • Professional experience working in a NGO

  • French fluence and English if possible

Key Responsibilities 1.    On the logistical side : 

  • Ensure the harmonization and control of the use of materials and equipment within the project.

  • Supervise the management of supply stocks, non-consumable items (equipment and materials), and inventories.

  • Ensure the ongoing management and maintenance of office equipment.

  • Ensure accurate inventory records are maintained for all items in stock.

  • Ensure regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies.

  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to prevent stockouts.

  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of items.

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments to verify their accuracy and quality.

  • Document and report any discrepancies or damaged items.

  • Coordinate and monitor the shipment of goods to various sites as needed

  • Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of all stock movements 

  • Strictly adhere to established procedures for the disposal of damaged items.

2.    Office Management :

  • Assess and ensure the availability and arrangement of spaces to meet the organization's needs.

3.    Regarding the management of materials and equipment:

  • Ensure the harmonization and control of the use of materials and equipment within the project

4.    Regarding administration :

  • Ensures compliance with all the organization's policies and procedures

  • Ensure all files are properly filed and easily accessible

  • Ensure regular inventory reports are submitted to management. Preferred Qualifications, Specialized Knowledge, Skills, Attributes:

  • Proven experience in logistics, warehouse management, or inventory control.

  • Certification in logistics, and supply chain management, is highly desirable.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy items.

  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
