Job Description:
As a Fish Truck Driver, your primary responsibility is to safely transport fish from Kagano to designated destinations while ensuring timely delivery and maintaining proper conditions to preserve quality. You will handle careful loading and offloading, conduct routine vehicle inspections, maintain accurate trip and delivery records, and comply with all traffic regulations and company procedures. You will also support operational activities and represent the company professionally at all times.
Primary Responsibilities:
Transportation and Delivery
Safely operate company trucks for daily transport of fish from Kagano to any destination.
Ensure timely delivery of fish and other assigned tasks following designated routes and schedules.
Maintain an optimal environment (ice quality, temperature) during transportation.
Handle loading and offloading of fish containers with care to minimize mortality rate.
Vehicle Care and Maintenance
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fuel, oil, lights, brakes, tires, coolant).
Report mechanical issues immediately to the Fleet Coordinator.
Keep the truck clean, well-secured, and in compliance with safety standards.
Ensure regular service based on mileage and service schedule.
Documentation & Reporting
Accurately complete trip sheets, delivery notes, and mortality records.
Maintain updated logbooks according to transport regulations.
Submit daily movement reports to the Fleet Coordinator.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all traffic rules and internal fleet Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain safe driving practices at all times.
Ensure that all required licenses, insurance, and permits are valid and present in the vehicle.
Adhere to fish protocols to prevent contamination between sites.
Operational Support
Assist farm teams during loading/unloading and emergency movements.
Provide feedback on route conditions, delays, and operational risks.
Represent the company professionally in all interactions with farmers and partners.
Qualifications:
Valid Rwandan driving license (Category B, C, or E).
Minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience in a reputable organization.
Knowledge of Western routes is an added advantage.
Able to speak and write English and Kinyarwanda.
Experience in logistics, agriculture, or delivery transport is an advantage.
Ability to read and complete transport documentation.
Basic mechanical knowledge is preferred.

Good physical condition; able to lift and move fish truck containers.
