Job Summary

The Accountant Manager will provide leadership and administrative supervision within the finance function while ensuring effective accounting operations, accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and adherence to tax and banking regulations. The successful candidate will oversee journal entries, reconciliations, audits, budgeting support, and internal control processes. This role is suitable for professionals with strong expertise in accounting management, financial reporting, audit coordination, banking compliance, and financial operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping Management Coordinate bookkeeping and journal entry processes Ensure accuracy and timeliness of accounting transactions Supervise compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations Monitor tax administration and statutory compliance Maintain accurate financial documentation and records

Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports Generate narrative reports explaining financial variances Ensure financial statements are accurate and compliant Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly regulatory reports Support budgeting and financial planning processes

Reconciliation & Internal Controls Perform daily and weekly reconciliations of general ledger accounts Maintain roll-forward reports for assets, borrowings, leases, and loans Strengthen internal control systems and accounting procedures Identify financial risks and recommend process improvements Ensure value for money across all transactions

Audit & Compliance Support Support internal and external auditing processes Respond promptly to audit and inspection queries Ensure timely closure of audit findings and recommendations Maintain compliance with BNR regulations, tax laws, and company policies Assist in preparing financial documents for auditors and regulators

Team Coordination & Leadership Lead and coordinate accounting activities within the department Promote teamwork and operational efficiency Support staff development and accounting best practices Communicate financial information effectively to management

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related disciplines.

Required Professional Certifications ACCA qualification CPA certification

Preferred Qualifications Auditing experience is an added advantage Knowledge of banking and financial regulations Additional finance or accounting certifications

Experience Requirements

Required Experience Experience in accounting management, financial reporting, banking or microfinance operations, audit coordination, internal controls and compliance.

Preferred Experience Exposure to financial institutions or banking environments Experience handling regulatory reporting Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting standards Experience using accounting software and spreadsheets

Required Skills and Competencies

Integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail Advanced spreadsheet and Microsoft Excel proficiency
