At UNICEF, we are committed, passionate, and proud of what we do for as long as we are needed. Promoting the rights of every child is not just a job – it is a calling. UNICEF is a place where careers are built. We offer our staff diverse opportunities for professional and personal development that will help them reinforce a sense of purpose while serving children and communities across the world. We welcome everyone who wants to belong and grow in a diverse and passionate culture, coupled with an attractive compensation and benefits package. Visit our website to learn more about what we do at UNICEF. For every child, the right to learn Tanzania is pursuing an ambitious education reform agenda through the Education Sector Development Plan (ESDP), including expansion of compulsory education, increased transition to secondary education, investments in skills and employability, digital learning, infrastructure, and improvements in education quality. Delivering these reforms within a constrained fiscal environment places increasing importance on sustainable domestic financing, effective use of available resources, and strong alignment between sector priorities, planning and budgeting processes. Against this backdrop, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has identified domestic resource mobilization (DRM) and education financing as important areas for continued institutional learning, collaboration and dialogue. Tanzania already has significant expertise and ongoing initiatives across these areas. The opportunity is to bring together the complementary perspectives and responsibilities of institutions across the financing and implementation chain – including MoEST, the Ministry of Finance, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), Local Government Authorities (LGAs), and other relevant actors – to develop a shared understanding of education financing priorities, constraints and opportunities. Through the GPE-KIX Country Support Mechanism, UNICEF is supporting MoEST to convene an applied capacity-strengthening and inter-sectoral engagement around this agenda. The engagement will connect domestic resource mobilization with expenditure efficiency, prioritization, the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), budget execution and education results. It will also provide a practical platform for examining financing and expenditure patterns alongside learning and other education outcomes, strengthening evidence-informed dialogue on resource allocation, efficiency and value for money. How can you make a difference? The purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical support to UNICEF and MoEST in the design, adaptation and delivery of an applied capacity-strengthening programme on domestic financing for education in Tanzania. Working within a Government-led process, the consultant will curate and adapt existing education financing, domestic resource mobilization and public finance materials to the Tanzania context and support facilitation of a five-day engagement combining technical learning for education-sector officials with broader inter-sectoral dialogue on education financing. Expert Application Advice
Always tailor your CV to mirror the exact language used in the job posting. For example, if Unicef CHAD lists "les compétences demandées dans l'annonce" as critical, ensure this phrase appears prominently in your experience summary. This shows you've carefully read their needs and are a direct match.
UN process — Complete an up-to-date, role-specific UN P11 — a generic P11 is disqualifying. Apply within 72 hours of posting: UN agencies often close applications once volume thresholds are reached.
Software and standards — Specify your actual accounting tools and standards knowledge. Finance technical tests often cover reconciliation cases or variance analysis — practice these with real examples.

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
