Roles and Responsibilities – Conduct nutritional assessments to evaluate patients’ dietary habits, nutritional status and specific healthcare needs. – Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on patients’ medical conditions, nutritional requirements and health goals. – Provide dietary counselling and nutrition education to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, newborn caregivers and other patients. – Develop appropriate meal plans to support maternal health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery and healthy infant development. – Provide nutritional guidance to patients managing medical conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity and malnutrition. – Monitor patients’ nutritional progress and evaluate the effectiveness of recommended dietary interventions. – Educate patients and families on balanced diets, healthy eating habits, food safety and appropriate food preparation practices. – Recommend appropriate nutritional interventions for patients with special dietary requirements or feeding difficulties. – Collaborate with nurses, midwives, physicians and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutritional care into patients’ treatment plans. – Maintain accurate nutritional assessment records, patient progress reports and dietary care documentation. – Provide nutrition support and guidance to individuals receiving based healthcare services.
