Roles and Responsibilities – Conduct comprehensive dental examinations to assess patients’ oral health and identify dental conditions requiring treatment. – Diagnose and manage common dental conditions, including dental caries, gum disease, tooth infections and other oral health complications. – Perform routine dental procedures, including tooth extractions, dental fillings, scaling and polishing. – Develop appropriate dental treatment plans based on patients’ oral health conditions and clinical assessments. – Provide emergency dental care to patients experiencing acute toothaches, dental trauma and other urgent oral health conditions. – Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive dental care and techniques for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. – Identify complex dental and maxillofacial conditions requiring specialized treatment and facilitate appropriate referrals. – Monitor patients’ recovery and treatment outcomes through scheduled dental follow-up appointments. – Maintain accurate dental records, treatment documentation and patient histories. – Ensure appropriate sterilization, maintenance and safe handling of dental instruments and equipment. – Promote infection prevention and control within the dental department. Requirements – Relevant academic and professional qualifications for the position applied for. – Valid professional registration and practising licence, where applicable. – Relevant working experience will be an added advantage. – Strong communication skills, professionalism and commitment to quality patient care.
