Avencion invites applications from ambitious and results-driven young professionals aged 20–29 years to join its District Health Analyst Leadership Program , a six-month paid internship designed to develop the next generation of public health and health systems leaders. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience working alongside district health offices, health facilities and community stakeholders, while contributing to initiatives that strengthen public health systems and improve service delivery. You do not necessarily need a qualification in a health-related field. We welcome graduates from diverse academic backgrounds who have the analytical ability, leadership potential and willingness to learn. POSITION OVERVIEW Position: District Health Analyst Intern Programme: District Health Analyst Leadership Program Engagement: Paid six-month internship (stipend provided) Age Requirement: 20–29 years Duty Stations: Lusaka, Kitwe, Ndola, Chililabombwe and Mpulungu Career Prospects: Potential for internship extension and consideration for future full-time employment opportunities. WHAT WILL YOU DO? As a District Health Analyst Intern, you will contribute to activities aimed at strengthening district-level health systems. Your responsibilities will include: Working with district health offices, health facilities and community stakeholders to identify public health implementation challenges. Supporting infectious disease surveillance, routine health reporting and health systems strengthening initiatives. Collecting, cleaning, validating, analysing and interpreting data to support evidence-based decision-making. Identifying operational gaps and proposing practical recommendations to improve service delivery. Supporting stakeholder engagement, field visits, mentoring activities and programme progress reporting. Monitoring implementation progress and documenting lessons and emerging insights. Building productive working relationships with government institutions, healthcare providers and community organisations. WHO SHOULD APPLY? Applicants must hold a Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in any of the following or related disciplines: Public Health and Epidemiology Statistics, Mathematics and Data Science Health Informatics and Information Systems Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Physics and Natural Sciences Social Sciences and Development Studies Business Administration and Management Graduates from non-health disciplines are strongly encouraged
