Site Manager / Safety Officer Location: Tanzania Assignment Type: Residential Contract Length: 4 Month Assignment with possibility of extension Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week Benefits: Daily rate plus full accommodation (housing, meals, laundry service), local transportation including airport transfers Role Overview The Site Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, management, and execution of all on-site activities related to the installation, commissioning, and handover of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This role also includes full responsibility as Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Social, and Environmental (H3SE) requirements as defined by the contract. Key Responsibilities – Organise and supervise site activities in line with contract requirements and project schedule. – Act as the main on-site interface with the client, general contractor, and subcontractors. – Prepare, update, and manage detailed daily planning and weekly look-ahead schedules. – Develop and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS). – Ensure strict compliance with HSE rules, site procedures, and local regulations. – Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and hazard hunts. – Control site access, permits to work, and ensure proper use of PPE. – Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, and define corrective actions. – Monitor quality of works and compliance with approved procedures. – Report daily and weekly progress, safety performance, and issues to the Project Manager. Requirements – Proven experience as a Site Manager on industrial or energy projects. – Strong background in HSE management (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent preferred). – Leadership skills and ability to manage multicultural teams. – Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation activities. – Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
