Commercial & Logistics Manager Location: Uvinza, Kigoma Region, Tanzania Sector: Mining About the Role Kazi Bora is seeking an experienced Commercial & Logistics Manager to oversee customer order fulfilment, transportation, warehouse operations, export documentation and logistics cost management for a mining operation in Uvinza, Kigoma Region. The successful candidate will coordinate domestic and cross-border shipments, maintain effective customer and transporter relationships, and ensure the timely, safe and cost-efficient movement of bulk commodities. Key Responsibilities – Manage customer orders from clearance to dispatch, ensuring agreed quantities, delivery schedules, routes and destinations are met. – Prepare daily dispatch schedules, update customers and resolve delivery delays, shortages and damages. – Coordinate road and lake transportation, including truck allocation, boat-loading schedules, transporters, freight rates and shipping documentation. – Oversee warehouse transfers and inventory control, ensuring FIFO procedures, safe stacking, security and accurate stock records in TallyPrime. – Liaise with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), port authorities, border posts and clearing agents to facilitate customs clearance and export compliance. – Monitor logistics expenditure and prepare weekly dispatch and monthly performance reports, covering freight cost per tonne, landed costs and delivery lead times. Qualifications and Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, International Trade or a related field. – At least 8 years of relevant experience in logistics, export operations or commercial management. – Demonstrated experience in export documentation, customs clearance and cross-border transportation of bulk commodities. – Experience in mining or bulk commodities such as salt, cement, sugar or fertiliser will be an added advantage. – Good understanding of international trade procedures and EAC, COMESA or SADC certificates of origin. – Fluency in English is required; French is an added advantage. – Strong negotiation, coordination, planning and reporting skills. – Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems; experience with TallyPrime is preferred. – Customs or freight-forwarding certification is an advantage. Work Location The successful candidate must be willing to reside in Uvinza, Kigoma Region, and travel frequently as required.
